Content Reporting and Moderation
Reporting Content
From time-to-time, you may observe content that you believe violates our community standards or policies. We encourage you to use the Report feature to notify our moderation team about potential violations of our standards.
If you view content that you believe violates our community standards, tap on the “⌄” icon of the post and select the “Report…” feature. This will allow you to preview an assortment of different reportable options. Please note that if the same content violates multiple standards, you only need to report it once. Do not send multiple reports for one piece of content.
Flagged content will be reviewed by our moderation team and, if applicable, will be removed from the platform.
Moderating Content
We understand that, in many cases, content creators unintentionally and subtly violate our community standards. In these situations, we believe that removing the content and notifying the content creator of the violation is a sufficient method of preventing future incidents of similar violations. If your content is removed, this message will include:
The removed content in question
The community standard(s) violated
If you believe that your content was wrongfully removed, the notification message will include an option to appeal the decision with a prompt for you to explain why you believe it should not be removed. After submitting the appeal, we’ll review your request.
Reposting removed content is a violation of these community standards and will result in further disciplinary action. This includes posting the exact same, or very similar, content. If you are able to modify the content to ensure it does not contain offending content, you may repost.
Platform Suspensions and Restrictions
Infrequently, the severity or consistency of community standard violations may merit temporary removal from the platform or restrictions on content creation. Content creators who continuously have their content removed, as well as creators who publish content containing more egregious violations of these standards, may be subject to these enforcement procedures.
If you violate our community standards, we may restrict your account in the following ways with 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, and 1 week increments:
The number of individuals you can follow
The amount of content you can post
The number of direct messages you are able to send
If you are suspended and attempt to login, you will see a message informing you that your account has been suspended and provide a reason why (including the standards violated). We will also attempt to email you this message when the suspension is enacted.
Banning Accounts
We believe that completely restricting your access to our platform is a last resort and reserved for the most severe violations of our standards or individuals who have repeatedly been suspended or previously restricted. Content that is eligible for immediate bans include, but are not limited to:
Child pornography, photos including sexual assault, and revenge porn
Supporting, encouraging, or threatening terroristic acts
Attempting to sell, purchase, or exchange illegal goods and services
Fake accounts that are intentionally attempting to mislead others
If you are banned and attempt to login, you will see a message informing you that your account has been banned and provide a reason why (including the standards violated). We will also attempt to email you this message when the ban is enacted.
Attempting to bypass any of these restrictions, such as creating alternative accounts or posting on another account, are violations of these community standards and will result in further disciplinary action.
