Privacy Policy

Our Services allow you to engage with friends, family, and other folks across your community and the world instantaneously and share content that you find enjoyable and relatable.

This Privacy Policy describes how and when we collect, use, and share your information across our websites, APIs, email notifications, applications, ads, and our other covered services that link to this Policy (collectively, the “Services”), and from our partners and other third parties. For example, you send us information when you use our Services on the web or from an application such as nenos for iOS or nenos for Android. When using any of our Services you consent to the collection, transfer, storage, disclosure, and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. This includes any information you choose to provide that is deemed sensitive under applicable law.

When this policy mentions “we” or “us,” it refers to the controller of your information under this policy. Your information is controlled by nenos Inc. Despite this, you alone control and are responsible for the posting of your content you submit through the Services, as provided in the Terms of Service and nenos Rules.

Irrespective of which country you live in, you authorize us to transfer, store, and use your information in the United States and any other country where we operate. In some of these countries, the privacy and data protection laws and rules regarding when government authorities may access data may vary from those in the country where you live.

If you have any questions or comments about this Privacy Policy, please contact us.

Information Collection and Use

We collect and use your information below to provide, understand, and improve our Services.

Basic Account Information

If you choose to create a nenos account, you must provide some personal information, such as your name, username, password, and email address or phone number. On nenos, your name and username are always listed publicly, including on your profile page and in search results, and you can use either your real name or a pseudonym. You can create and manage only one nenos personal account. Some of our product features do not require you to create an account.

Contact Information

You may use your contact information, such as your email address or phone number, to customize your account or enable certain account features. We may use your contact information to help prevent fraud, spam, or abuse, and to help others discover or locate your account, including through third-party services and client applications. Your privacy settings control whether others can find you on nenos by your email address and/or phone number.

Location Information

You may provide your precise location while actively using the Services in order to participate in enhanced local and community-based features (for example, you can share your location while publishing content or while searching for events and activities around you). The Service may attempt to ascertain your approximate location periodically in order to operate. Your location is never shared, sold, or transferred.

Location is an essential part of the Service and what it has to offer. Therefore to provide the Service to you, at least some location information is needed. If you choose to provide GPS-based location permission, we will use that. You may choose whether or not to share your precise location or a more general area. If you do not grant location access, we may attempt to determine your location by using other information from your mobile device, such as information about cell towers or wireless networks near your mobile device, or your IP address.

Location information is ephemeral: it is generated when a session with the Service begins and is not retained after a session ends.

Additional Information

You may choose to provide us with additional information to help improve and personalize your experience across our Services. If you email us, we may keep your message, email address, and contact information to respond to your request.

Direct Messages and Non-Public Communications

We provide some features that allow you to communicate with your followers directly and privately. While privately communicating with others through these Services, such as by receiving or sending direct messages, we will process and store your communications, and related information. When directly messaging others on the platform, it is important to remember that recipients may store, copy, and re-share the contents of your communications without notification. Only message others privately that you would not mind being shared publicly.

Posted Content and Public Information

The nenos platform is intended to help you connect with not only your local community, but with friends and family across the world. Much of the identifying information you provide us through the platform is information that may be public. You may provide us with profile content such as a short bio, your location (city and state), other social media handles, date of birth, or a profile photo. Additionally, your public information includes (but is not limited to):

  • the content you publish

  • the metadata provided with such Content

  • information pertaining to your account, such as creation time, language, country, and time zone

  • the people you follow

  • content with which you engage

Notably, nenos may broadly and instantaneously share your public information to a wide range of customers, other content creators, and various services, including developers, search engines, and publishers that integrate nenos content into their services. When you share content such as videos, photos, audio, written essays, and links via these Services, we recommend thinking carefully about what you are making public. nenos may use this information you provide to make inferences, such as the topics you may be interested in. Our default setting is almost always to make the information you provide through the Services public for as long as you do not remove it, but we have given you settings and features to make the information private, if you want. For certain profile information fields, such as city or number of followers, we provide you with settings to select who can see this information in your profile. While setting up your profile and you don’t see a visibility setting for a certain field, that information is public. You can change the language and time zone associated with your account at any time using your account settings.

We may share or disclose your public information, such as your profile information, public content, or the people you follow or that follow you. It is important to remember that your privacy and visibility settings control what the rest of the world can see from your profile. Some information is always visible on nenos regardless of your privacy settings, unless you delete your account.

Business Transfers and Affiliates

Should we ever become involved in a merger, bankruptcy, acquisition, reorganization, or asset sale, your data and information may be sold or transferred as part of this transaction. However, this Privacy Policy will apply to your information as it is transferred to the new entity.

Non-Personal, Device-Level, or Aggregated Information

It is important to understand that this information does not include identifying information such as your name, email address, phone number, username.

Accessing, Modifying, and Removing Your Personal Information

If you register an account with us, we provide you with account settings to access, delete, or amend the personal information you provided to us and what is associated with your account.

An option available to you is that you can also permanently delete your nenos account. When deactivated, your account, including your name, username, and public profile, is not viewable on nenos. For up to thirty days after you deactivate your account, it is still possible to restore your account if it was wrongfully or accidentally done. Unless you are in an arrangement with us to extend this period, after 30 days we begin the process of deleting your account and subsequent information from our systems, which can take up to a week.

Even after you deactivate your account and it is officially deleted, search engines and other third parties outside of our control may still retain copies of your public information.

Children

We do not knowingly collect or solicit any information from anyone under the age of 13, nor do we knowingly allow such persons to register for the Service. The Service and its content are not directed at persons under the age of 13. In the event we learn that we have collected an individual’s information under the age of 13, we will make every effort to delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe we might have information from or about a child under the age of 13, please contact us.

Changes to this Policy

This Privacy Policy may be amended from time-to-time as circumstances evolve. The most current version of the policy will govern our use of your information and will always be at https://nenos.one/privacy.
