2.1 Impersonating Others

We prohibit the creation of personal accounts or publishing/distribution of content that impersonates another individual, organization, or business with the intent to confuse or mislead others on the platform.

We do not prohibit satirical, fan, or troll accounts of organizations, businesses, notable individuals, government agencies or institutions, elected officials, or candidates for office providing they do not violate any other community standard. They must clearly designate themselves as such in their bio section.

Content that would violate this standard would include, but is not limited to:

  • Creating an account that impersonates an individual, organization, or business without publicly and explicitly labeling the account as a ‘fake account’

  • Creating an account that impersonates, or attempts to mislead others about its affiliation with, candidates for office, elected officials, government agencies or organizations, political parties, and election officers

  • Creating an account with falsely misleading information, such as stock photos or photos of other individuals or intentionally inaccurate bios

  • Soliciting information and media to impersonate an individual, organization, or business
