The Home Stretch
We’ve been hard at work this autumn to prepare for the December 13th public release of nenos, and we have some exciting updates to share with you and features you’ll be able to look forward to!
Available On Release
The moment you download the app, you’ll be able to edit and share photos, and craft and publish status updates and longer stories. Choose from a huge variety of different filters to customize your photos before you caption them and share with your followers. With written content, you’ll be able to create brief updates to keep your friends and family in the loop or longer posts that you can pour your heart into—the possibilities are endless!
Moderation Tools &
Community Standards
While Apple requires all social media apps to have moderation tools and features, we also believe that this is essential to promoting a healthy and safe zone for everyone to feel comfortable and share and view the content that they find meaning in.
Creators will be able to report any content that they believe violates our Terms of Service and community guidelines (both of which will be publicly available on the website at all times), and we’ll take steps to make sure that these terms and standards are being followed.
Our goal is not to make people feel like they are restricted in what they can share, but to create a platform that doesn’t drown its creators with spam, hateful content, and misinformation. And we’ll always make sure everything we do is with the creators in mind!
What’s Next?
While the app will be available on iOS devices starting December 13th, we’ll continue to work on other long-term features to optimize your experience on the platform that will not be available immediately on release:
More ways to share and engage. Writing posts and sharing photos won’t be the only way to engage with your followers: you’ll also be able to edit and share videos and embed audio content directly into your posts. Share your music, audiobook reading, and so much more directly into the platform without linking to third-party websites.
Create content for subscribers. In our efforts to give you an ad-free platform, we’re going to be enabling all of our creators to set-up “public” pages and “subscriber” pages, where they can create and share unique content with paying subscribers. More information on what this includes will be shared at a later date, so stay tuned!
Discover new places. The Discover tab is being finalized, which will be an important part of the nenos platform and allow you to better connect with other creators. You’ll be able to assign “Places” to your content, meaning that others can tap on your post and see where the post happened, get directions to the post or save the post for later, and even find other posts at or around this area!
