Introducing nenos 2.0

We've learned a lot about building a company and a new social experience from the ground up over the past year. Long story short: it ain't easy! However, through hard work and determination, we've created a solid foundation to launch the next phase of our journey: nenos 2!

Our Summer and Fall 2022 updates will consist of two major developments, lovingly named Dawn and Radiate. These upcoming releases will bring new features and tools to give you unique opportunities to connect.

Dawn and Radiant Updates

Dawn | Summer 2022 

• Push notifications show when others like and comment on your content, follow you or post something interesting

• Directly and privately message your friends and followers

• Create written ("Prose") and audio ("Listen") content

• Discover activities and events happening around you

Radiate | Fall 2022

• Invite your friends to join the platform to create with you

• Share and show off your photos, audio, and written posts outside of nenos

• Receive guided introductions to tools and features when signing up for an account

• Receive preemptive notifications if the content you publish may violate our community standards

Dawn will be our first major expansion to nenos since launching. The Dawn, Summer 2022 update will feature new tools to create exciting content: write short posts or long journal entries and share audio such as songs, podcasts, and books. You'll also be able to directly and privately message your friends and followers. Radiate will fill in some crucial gaps, primarily creating a formal onboarding process for all new creators to the platform and introducing sharing.

Board Appointments

To support our operations and guide nenos app development forward, we’re establishing an Advisory Board composed of individuals from various backgrounds, professions, and ideological perspectives. Unlike a Board of Directors, this invitation-only Advisory Board will not directly influence the day-to-day operations of nenos and as folks are not fiduciaries. However, these board members will still provide vital insight and critical feedback on our direction. 

At the same time, we’re also forming a Social Media Ethics Board. This group of passionate community members will help shape our moderation policies, define our community standards and terms of service, and mold how to best support our content creators. We believe that this collaboration will be vital in building a robust social network, and we will be sharing more information on appointments to both of these boards moving forward.

Development Roadmap

And finally, to be more transparent with our long-term plans for the nenos app, we'll be publicly releasing a Development Roadmap. A roadmap will help early adopters, press, and potential investors understand our vision for nenos and our progress towards that vision. There are always unforeseen challenges in building a social network, so the roadmap will have some flexibility and is subject to changes as we move forward. We hope this tool will give you a good idea of our aspirations and vision for the final product (and when we think we'll get there)!
